Exciting news! Together with our partner, Institut Mosintuwu, and the Indonesian Teachers Association in Poso District (PGRI Poso) – and with the generous support of the European Union of Aquarium Curators (EUAC) – we have launched a new project at Lake Poso. Building on our 2024 „Lake Poso in the Classroom“ campaign (see reports on field excursions, seminars and classroom aquariums), we are now initiating an intensive collaboration with teachers from the region.
We kicked things off with a series of webinars focusing on geological, biological, and cultural diversity. It was my pleasure to participate in all these sessions; the turnout was excellent, and both the presentations and the subsequent discussions were highly engaging!
Now, we are preparing for an expedition… 30 teachers will be selected to join us at Lake Poso in October!
Following the field trips, we will hold a series of workshops to help teachers create educational materials based on what they have learned and experienced. Our ultimate goal is to integrate the unique diversity of Lake Poso into the regional school curriculum.
